Weekend Pottery Class (2 days)
Tax included. Shipping calculated at checkout
Want to spend a weekend doing something creative in Berlin?
Join our weekend pottery class, a unique opportunity to spend two days making beautiful pieces with clay. In a relaxed environment, we will come together as a group and enjoy getting our hands into clay. A delicious snack and drinks will be provided on both days.
During the weekend, you will learn and develop your hand-building skills (building by hand without a wheel) and will be able to make up to 6 pieces that you leave with us to be fired and glazed. All the pieces will be fired with our trusted studio white glaze and during the class you will be able to add some color with our engobes, which can look amazing under the white glaze (see the last photo for color example).
If you live outside of Berlin and are just visiting, we will be able to ship your results to you for a fee (please note that we normally use DHL so have a look at their prices for reference).
Itinerary
Day 1: 11.00 to 15.30
We will start at 11.00 and in the first couple of hours we will show you the pinching and slab building techniques. You will learn the basic and most used techniques in hand-building which can be combined and used to make pretty much anything.
There will be a short break for drinks and a delicious snack.
After our break, we will come back for the last couple of hours in which you can keep practising the techniques you just learned by making independently.
Day 2: 11.00 to 15.30
On the second day, we will explore the technique of coiling. First of all there will be a demonstration, before you set forth and create your own pieces.
This is a slow and meditative technique, which will allow you to build bigger pieces such as vases. You will learn how to start a piece, refine, build on it and you will be able to also add decorative touches to it.
We will have a break during the session, where we will provide you with drinks and a snack.

In this workshop, you will be shown three different hand-building techniques; pinching, coiling and slab building. These techniques are the fundamentals of hand-built pottery and can be used alone or combined to make all kinds of shapes, forms and objects.
After the class, your pieces will be dried, fired and glazed by us. After this, your pottery will be fired and ready to collect in about 3-4 weeks. We will notify you via email when the pieces are ready for collection. Alternatively, we can ship the pieces to you for an additional cost.
Please note that we can only keep pieces 2 months after you have been notified.
NOTE: We understand that life gets in the way and that you may miss one of the classes. However we cannot accommodate or allow you to make up a class later or swap classes. We cannot make exceptions.

Classes Cancellation policies
Our classes are non-refundable. Booking a class is like buying a ticket for a concert or a movie. These are specific events bound to time and place and therefore not refundable.
You can rebook a class if you give us notice at least 7 days before the event. This means that you will be issued a voucher that you can use to book a future class.
If you let us know less than 7 days before the class starts, you will not be able to rebook the class. We are not able to make exceptions.
If we allowed for last minute cancellations we would have to significantly increase our prices to account for the risk, thus making our classes inaccessible to a lot of people. While we have waiting lists for our classes, it is very difficult to find replacements less than a week before the event (believe us, we've tried!).
Yes. You are welcome to transfer it to a friend if you can't make it. The policies above would still apply.
Our studio is for adults (for people of age 18 or above).
